The only way to fix this is to open up the mouse, and tighten the upper clamps (the lower clamps are blocked by the receiver for the RMB press). I also "heard" the sound of something dragging and realized something other than the sliders on the bottom were making contact.
I noticed if I push down very hard, its a bit more responsive. I tried switching mousepads to test this out as well. I almost immediately started noticing non-responsiveness, skipping, and stuttering of the pointer while I physically move the mouse. On the OTHER HAND! I clawgrip and do not like to have my hand scrunched up, so the wider feel of the RAT 8+ is great. After some initial research, I purchased the RAT 8+ because I knew it would feel great under my hand - and it did! I loved being able to pull the thumbgrip and palmrest out more. So I've been using a RAT RapidFire from a friend for 2 years now, I switched to the Logitech G502 Hero but found the mouse hand-crampingly small compared to the RATs that I'm used to.
